There are several Lake George beaches other than Million Dollar Beach that you may want to consider when visiting.
Here are a few for you and your group to choose from:
The Hague Town Beach Park. Hague Town Beach is super accessible as well as being a bit off the beaten path. It’s on the north west side of the lake. It’s a bit of a scenic drive and will take about an hour from the property. On the way you’ll pass through Sabbath Day Point overlook, which offers some scenic views. https://goo.gl/maps/nrzrLHT5twNJ8tUG9
If you are looking for something that could be folded into a day trip with checking out some history, you could go to the north side of the lake (Ticonderoga), hop over to the Fort and then go for a swim at Black Point Beach (11 Tiroga Beach Ln) – ~1hr. from the house. https://goo.gl/maps/BA1YNTZXesEzBDAA7
If you’re looking for something more adventurous (I’m talking cliff diving!) AND have a boat (or are ready to do some leave-no-trace bushwhacking), then you may want to check out Calf’s Pen Swimming Hole in Fort Ann. https://goo.gl/maps/7zewPUKJTpngas8v8
Shelving Rock Falls is a popular spot with locals. Also off the beaten path and requires a short hike. This spot is located in Ft. Ann – ~45 minutes from the house. https://goo.gl/maps/BSej9U1PBdhJaNwD7
Roger’s Park, ~30 min from the house, in Bolton (west side of the lake), has a small beach with BEAUTIFUL views, very accessible. https://goo.gl/maps/PMskci5m2WC4KvAfA
If you are tight on time and looking for something local, head on over to Haviland Cove Beach. It’s not part of Lake George, but it is on the Hudson River which is another famous New York body of water. It has a sandy beach, seasonal swimming and also picnic tables.
